Top 5 Warm Winter Campground Getaways

by Mitch Siemens

Winter is just around the corner, and most of you will be getting on the road in a few weeks (or you may have been lucky enough to get out of town already), so I wanted to let you know about some of the best parks with tons of great amenities to add to your overnight stay destinations down in the southern half of the U.S.

They’re big rig friendly (≤ 45ft), pet friendly, and there’s countless activities to choose from. With over 100 planned activities, a 9-hole golf course, karaoke and weekly live music, the word “bored” is illegal here. Kick your feet up by the heated pool, or hit one of the nearby ATV trails. There really isn’t enough time in the day at Westwind.

Creekfire RV Resort and Campground in Savannah, GA has something for everyone whether you want to escape to the outdoors or explore the historic city of Savannah, Georgia. Park an RV or stay in one of the deluxe cabins while enjoying ample space in nature to relax, unwind and breathe in the fresh air. Hike, splash, and play your way all over the resort – creating memories with your family and friends that will last a lifetime.

Most spots are over-sized and can accommodate rigs up to eighty feet. There’s a hot tub, heated pool, they bring in live music acts every weekend, this place is top notch, but it would be negligent of my former child self to not mention the lazy river and kid’s splash pad.

Majestic Oaks RV Resort in Biloxi, MS, you can relax in the shade of the long rows of lofty oak trees and kick back by the pool, then take the park’s shuttle down to the Treasure Bay Casino and see if you can win yourself some gas money. Majestic Oaks offers every bit of southern hospitality.

Wekiva Falls RV Resort in Sorrento, FL. Located thirty minutes from Disney and right by a nice and easy canoeing spot, Wekiva is all over the spectrum. The sulfur spring cannot go without mention, being that they have a built-in waterfall. It’s the perfect spot to let the kids be kids while you relax in the Florida sun.

Their RV sites are spacious and secluded, and the tent sites fit any camping style. There’s no better way to experience the beauty of Florida, the fun of The Falls, and nature, than camping at Wekiva Falls.

Wekiva Falls RV Resort delivers an unmatched pool and river experience. The Lagoon is a water attraction all on its own, and they offer day passes for those who want to experience our water features.

Bay Palms RV Resort, Coden, AL  - Bay Palms RV Resort in Coden, AL is more than a campground, it’s a lifestyle. Family style resort with plenty of amenities.

Embrace an Enriching Lifestyle at Bay Palms: An Abundance of Wonderful People, Resort Amenities, and Exciting Activities, All in Proximity to Dauphin Island! The Convenience Of Home With The Luxuries Of A Resort.

If you visit any of these parks over the winter (or any Passport America parks for that matter)

post a review and let us know about your experience!
